Zubeen Garg or Zubeen Borthakur aka Goldie was born on 18 November 1972 in Jorhat, Assam to Mohini Mohan Borthakur, a famous lyricist and poet and the late Ily Borthakur. He finished his schooling from various schools across Assam and moved to Guwahati to get a degree in Science from B. Borooah College.Â
When he got a gold medal for his Western Solo Performance in 1992, he left his degree to pursue his career in music.
