Jaya Kavi is an Indian actress who works in the Telugu television industry. She was born in Kerala, India, but identifies herself as a Tamil girl. Jaya is a trained classical dancer. She has had a liking towards for from a very young age. She has participated in national-level dance competitions and has bagged prices as well. She had participated in the Natana Rangam competition too. She did her college education from Holy Cross, and has a Bachelor’s degree in Visual communication as well as in Bharatanatyam. She has also started her own dance academy in Hyderabad.

In spite of being a Tamil girl, she was able to grab a good number of roles in the Telugu serial industry. The ease with which she portrayed the role of a police officer in the Telugu serial Prema invited more roles for her. Her talent and skill in the field is what got her the opportunity to play the lead role in the hit serial, Thoorpu Padamara. She has also acted in the historical serial, Rudramadevi, portraying the role of Sumati Devi. She is married to Siddhartha Gautham.
