Ravi Khemu

Ravi Khemu is a well-known Indian director, actor, and producer. He is known predominantly for his contributions to the Bollywood Film Industry. He was born and brought up in Kashmir, India. He is a Kashmiri Pandit by religion. He is amongst those Bollywood individuals, who had witnessed the mass exodus of the Kashmiri Pandit. Ravi hails from an extremely talented family. His father, Moti Lal Khemu, an eminent Kashmiri playwright, also known to have entitled to one of the most prestigious awards, the Padmashri. His mother was also a well-known singer. Ravi is a graduate and has acquired a degree in Science. He was always attracted to the colorful and bright things, and this was his sole reason for choosing science, where the chemicals in the laboratory fascinated him.

His interest in the field of acting and direction rose when people used to visit his father and tell about the glorious and fascinating costumes and sets. Then onwards, he had a curiosity to explore this field of glory. In the year 1975, he decided to pursue acting. He also joined the National School of Drama (one of the prestigious institutes for dramatics and theater), in the year 1997. Initially, he felt a burden as there were around twenty-seven subjects that were to be studied. Later, he mastered the subject Theatrical Art of Kerala. He also traveled Manipur to observe their cultures. He has also worked as a professor with his subject 'Theater and Dramatics.' When asked about his inspiration and role model, he answers that his father will always be his first inspiration.
