Another Version of the Bio...
Risen from ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2009’ Asma MohammedRafi, an Omani singer, was born on 19 November 1991. She is the second-generation musician from her family, following her father, Mohammed Rafi. Her father polished his talent by listening to famous Arab and Indian musicians and performing out loud for his family. 2006 was the year when a lot changed for the Rafi family. Dr. Sanjay, the man behind Talent Hunters Oman, recognized Mohammed Rafi’s raw talent and gave him performance opportunities. He would occasionally bring his daughter, Asma, along with him for shows; that’s how Dr. Sanjay found her.
A few years later, when Zee TV was looking for aspiring and young singers, Asma’s name instantly popped up, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa was a life changer for Asma. Her exuding confidence and natural talent were loved and appreciated all over India. She became an instant sensation, with thousands of fans begging for her autographs and photos. Her fan following kept on increasing as she continued her musical journey after going back to Oman. She was offered gigs, shows and even became a chief guest and a judge in various events. However, she retired from her music career once she got married, but it wasn’t the end of the Rafi family’s musical journey. Following the footsteps of his father and sister, Asma’s younger brother Haitham Mohammed Rafi developed his love for singing at a young age.
When Dr. Sanjay heard about an international singing show ‘Dil hai Hindustani’ airing on ‘Star Plus’ being held in India, he instantly knew it would be the big break that Haitham deserved. In late 2016, Haitham landed in India, and on 1 April 2017, he emerged as the winner of the show, bagging the most votes around the globe. Back in Oman, Haitham and Asma’s younger siblings, Amin, Basam, and Fatma, had also started to sing and hum, continuing the family legacy.
