What sets the Pakistani pop musician Waris Baig apart is his unique style, where he embodies elements of contemporary pop and Indian pop genres with traditional Pakistani folk music. His first-ever album was released in 1989, called Music 89. Waris composed soundtracks for films like Sangam (1997), Chief Sahib (1996) and Inteha (1999). He has been bestowed with several prestigious awards like Pride of Performance (2020) and Nigar Awards (2000).
