Krithika Subrahmanian

Krithika Subrahmanian is a devoted artist who has vowed to serve her profession and her passion, which is dance. She lives in Alwarpet, Chennai in Tamil Nadu. So devoted is her commitment to dance that she follows it as a religion or a way of life. Krithika believes in ‘Sri’- The quest for oneness or the fulfillment of the soul which is trapped in a mortal cage. She wishes to bring more people into the folds of the mission to unlock the ‘Sri’ within. Krithika considers herself lucky to be tutored by the veteran dance master Sudha, whom she affectionately refers to as ‘Sudha Aunty’. It was under the guidance of her dance ‘guru’ that she prospered as the wonderful dancer that she is present.

Kkrithika has held various dance performances all over India, gaining a wide audience for her dance from all over the country. Her performance reflects the passion towards the art that is lurking within her. Vidwan Madurai Sri N Krishnan was another great personality who helped her in developing her hobby to a higher level, Krithika is grateful towards both the masters who helped her in finding her place in the world. According to Krithika, it was the impossible standards set by her teachers that made her different from all other students pursuing the art.

Due to the influence of her father Ganga Vishwanath who was an engineer, and also due to the advice of her husband Somnath, Krithika took a break from dance in order to work as an architect. Even though her commitment towards architecture and the science of Vaastu was unquestionable, she realized that she lacked something in her life, which was dance. Thus, she returns back to dance even when society expects her to stay at home, taking care of her children and family. However, Krithika claims that she was inseparable from the art of dancing, which she refers to as her ‘soulmate’.
