Nandu Ghanekar is a popular actor, filmmaker, and music composer who works predominately in the Marathi film and television industries. He was born on 4th November 1958. He made his debut on the big screen with the film 'Taryanche Bait' (An Island of Stars) in 2011 as a music composer. He is best known for his contribution as a music composer in Sunanda, a short film in 2003, Shalee in 2015, and for the title track of a popular Marathi tele series for kids' 'De Dhamaal' aired on Alpha Marathi.

He composed songs for the Tele Series 'JOSH' aired on Star Plus, wrote and composed the title track for the Kids Marathi series 'Zip Zap Zup', composed the principal signature tune for IBN/Lokmat News Network in 2008, composed the background score of an English feature film ' Detour Click to look into! >> Read More... ', composed and produced jingles for radio and TV for 'Kalnirnay', 'Chetna Self-Study,' 'Triminic,' 'Nulife,' 'Heinz-Complan,' 'Rasoya Besan,' 'To Name A Few,' and many others, composed music for a Kids Play in Marathi 'Fi FyF o Fum', composed and produced music for TV 18 group in House production 'The Cell' for In.com, Prahaar Daily, Money Yatra on CNBC Awaaz to Name A Few.

Apart from that, he is also a director and producer. He launched 'Envy Films' and 'Enchant Films' with the producer Vaishali Ghanekar Shah. He directed and produced more than 350 films, TV Commercials, and Documentary films. He also directed a 14-episode web series 'Arohan' depicting the life of women in the Indian Navy aired on Doordarshan Channel in 1993. He passed away in January 2023 at the age of 65 in his residence in Mulund. He was cremated at Balkoom Crematorium in Thane.
