Rasheed Parakkal

Rasheed Parakkal is a film director from India. His latest Malayalam movie released in 2020 was “ Sameer Click to look into! >> Read More... .” He is primarily known for his work in Malayalam cinema. Two of his most well-known films are "Swayhanile Poochakkutti" and "Sameer." His previous film, Swayhanile Poochakkutti, was released in theaters in 2020.

In a notepad, he recorded his bitter experiences of loneliness. When he returned to Kerala, he rewrote and delivered his writing piece to the publishers. His life inspired the book’s content, even though others regarded it as a literary masterpiece.

Rasheed has also authored three novels and a poetry anthology. Sadly, his Malayalam feature films “Dhanyam” and Kattumakkan” failed to connect with audiences. Still, he was praised as a writer by cinema critics.

Rasheed has written and directed several  Malayalam short films. He received critical acclaim at various Indian film festivals for his exceptional talent. Parakkal has authored lyrics in addition to short films, novels, and poetry.

“Continue,” his newest 10-minute short, exposes several social and political topics. The mainstream media and political parties often choose to ignore these themes. The movie “Continue” centers around a person's strike against environmental exploitation. Later, The ruling elite assassinated him. Witnessing his death, a student from a nearby village escalated his strike.

His other works, such as “Shelter, Vacation, and Dog Has a Day,” address significant social, political, and environmental issues.

“Kunnamkulath Angadi,” a hit Malayalam television sitcom, was written by Parakkal. Sunil Karyattukara directed the serial. The social satire series aired on the “Media One” channel.
