Salam Bappu is by profession and Indian director who works in Malayalam film industries. Salam Bappu was born and brought up at Palappetty, a village in Ponnani, Malappuram, Kerala. His parents were Bappu Haji and Ayishumma. He has finished his education from Govt. High School Palappetty, and later completed his graduation from M.E.S.College. He also carries a Postgraduate degree in the area of Media.

He pursued as an advocate from Kerala High court, Kochi. He has also published a book named ‘Bhoomiyile kalippaattangal.’ It is a collection of poetry that he used to compose throughout his university period. He has also done some work as a scriptwriter in the first regional Channel Asianet of Malayalam. In Asianet, he met his idol, the prominent and successful Director and Script Writer Lal Jose, which is considered to be a turning point in Salam’s career. It appears as if Salam was doomed to be a member of the film organization. He was of a conventional Muslim family, so he suffered a lot of critique in shifting his field from the lawsuit to film-making. He began with his dream profession in 2001 in the film production as an associate to the famed director Lal Jose.

Salam Bappu has also co-directed in a Bangladeshi movie “Eytho Prem,”which got critical recognition In Bangladesh. He also gave his support in the making of an Oman film named Aseel. He debuted as a Malayalam director with the release of his movie Red Wine in 2013. He became the Vice President of Feka Director's union. But now he is the treasurer in the same Union. With the guidance of his idol Lal Jose, he was able to mark his aura with the film Red Wine.
