Ashish Mehra is a popular personality, who lives in London. He is a divorcee. In a certain stage, he falls in love with a girl named Ayesha, who is half of his age. She adores him for his personality. Ashish’s personal advocate cum friend suggests him not to marry a young girl and insist him that she is of his daughter’s age. But, the lovers want to get married and Ashish decides to get permission from his estranged wife, who is in India. Did he get her permission? Watch the film in theaters!
Ajay Devgan is excellent in his role. He should really be appreciated for his role selection. Many heroes hesitate to show themselves as a middle-aged guy. Ajay had allowed even the dialogues to point him as a father like figure to Rakul. Tabu had excelled in her role, brilliantly. Her body language and performance are fantastic. Rakul Preet Singh played her part fantastically. She looks cute and cool. Javed Jaffrey did justice to the given role.
Akiv has chosen a good script in his debut directorial venture. He had moved the script well. Although some scenes are predictable, the climax is different. With this script, the director has touched all the related subjects of this genre including the live-in relationships, divorce and love between two generation people. Akiv had not brought a preachy script, yet he deals it with maturity. However, we could feel that Tabu should have been used more effectively. The BGM and the songs are good.
What’s Not There?
All the stars had performed excellently and impressed the audiences. If we set aside the few negative points in the film and watch it, then DDPD is really an interesting film to watch this weekend!
