Plot:
Cindy and Jim are a very disappointed couple due to their inability to have a kid of their own. They had a box that contained traits that they wanted their kinds to have which out of sheer despair they buried in the garden. After a huge storm, they found something that they never thought would happen.
They saw a child with plants growing out of his ankle. He turned out to be a son they didn’t plan for and were exposed to the world of tedious parenting. It is through this that they learn very important lessons not just about parenthood but also about life.
The story of the movie is different and fantastical. It makes you feel that the otherwise misunderstood world isn’t all that sad and bad after all, something that the Disney movies are known to do. The director did a commendable job and constructs and portrayed the scenarios intelligently.
Although at times the movie may seem predictable it never lessens your love for the movie and its innocence. The story is extremely lovable and cute. It majorly deals with various emotions and sentiments with a sense of comfort and ease. There may be times when you notice a few glitches here and there, but it still holds a very special place in your hearts.
The general tendency of any fantasy movie to present things with a sugar coating on it isn’t much done away with, but the impressive aspect of the scenario is that it still can embody a little dark side to the whole beautiful world. The actors have an effortlessly sweet performance and are rather convincing in their grim times as well as in the times of joy.Â
Verdict:
This one is a fun watch. A feel good movie that one can enjoy with their families around them.
