After the release of the trailer of Jana Nayagan, fans found that Vijay’s action movie is heavily inspired from Balakrishna’s action drama, which released way back in 2023.

Bhagavanth Kesari starred Balakrishna in the role of a cop turned vigilante Bhagavanth Kesari, who clashes wants his adopted daughter Viji, played by Sreeleela, to join the Indian armed forces. Though it was another run of the mill movie for Balakrishna, fans were surprised by the way he played an age specific role, something not seen in most of his filmography. The movie eventually won the National Award for Best Film in Telugu. The movie also marked Arjun Rampal’s debut in Telugu cinema, who played the lead antagonist, Rahul Sanghvi.

Balakrishna is currently working on multiple projects, including a historical drama with Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi, with whom he previously worked on the historical drama, Gautamiputra Satkarni.
