Vijay's 59th movie directed by Atlee is said to be a remake of the Vijayakanth starrer Chathriyan, which was a huge hit in yesteryears.
A highlight of Chathriyan was the influential role played by the legendary villain Thilakan of Mollywood. No one could guess correctly as to who was playing the villain to Ilayathalapathy Vijay.
It was believed that director Mahendran was the main villain as he was known to be in the cast. But it came as a surprise to one and all that it is Puratchi Tamizhan Sathyaraj who is the main villain in the film and he has done it only for Vijay.
Sathyaraj is known to be a Vijay fan and had earlier worked with him in Nanban and Thalaivaa. Others in the cast of Vijay 59 include Prabhu, Samantha,
