The Election Commission of India announced the by-poll date as 12th April 2017 and the parties are involving seriously in canvassing the voters in RK Nagar. It is announced that new method of monitoring the RK Nagar constituency will be introduced soon. It is said that Mobile Micro Observers, a new monitoring method will be launched soon and the Central Government employees will be doing the job. It is also announced that the polling booths that have more than 1200 votes will have five election officers on duty.
