Unni Mukundan To Play PM Narendra Modi In This Biopic

Yes, it’s true. According to the recent reports, Unni Mukundan has signed up for a multilingual movie called Maa Vande, which will explore the relationship between PM Narendra Modi and his mother Heeraben.

In a way, the Malayalam star will be making his unofficial Hindi debut with this project, where he will be playing PM Narendra Modi. Kranti Kumar CH will be directing this project.

This isn’t the first time Unni Mukundan has been involved in a project related to nationalist causes. In early 2022, he was subject to a hate campaign over his debut production Meppadiyan, just because his character worshipped the murti of Pavanputr Hanuman, and he operated an ambulance connected to Seva Bharathi, the charitable arm of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, which is also the political guardian of the incumbent government run by Bharatiya Janata Party.

However, Unni refused to apologize or withdraw from releasing the movie. Meppadiyan went on to become a surprise box office success. The movie also won the National Award for Best Directorial Debut.
