Shah Rukh Khan treated his fans with one of his good performances after a long time in the movie ‘Fan’. The dedication is evident in his dual personality portrayal of a star and fan, accented further by his clear expression of emotions. Even though critiqued as a movie that lacked good screenplay and a healthy direction, the performance was worth watching. It’s the side of Shah Rukh Khan that his loyal fans desperately want to see him continue in the long run.
Salman usually stars as himself in almost all of his movies since almost forever. ‘Sultan’, however, is an exception. Irrfan Khan plays a middle-classed grieving father in this movie that displays his anger against the irresponsive and corrupt political system that ultimately leads him into kidnapping the home minister’s son. Unarguably one of the finest actors in our country, Irrfan Khan articulates his character Nirmal with utmost perfection. The film was critiqued by some as not being at par with Irrfan Khan’s talent as an actor. Well, that is more than enough to describe the impact this man has on the movie industry.
‘Airlift’ is regarded by many as the finest performance till date by Akshay Kumar in his 115th film career over a span of 28 years. A story that was almost lost in the sidelines was brought to life through this exceptional cinematic experience. Akshay Kumar puts his heart and soul in this rather unconventional script that breaks the usual persona of a typical Bollywood hero. There are moments of breakdown and failure that perfectly resonate the struggle of the Indian refugees in Kuwait and Akshay Kumar perfectly delivers the experience on picture.
Known mostly for her bubbly and fun loving demeanor Sonam Kapoor surprises people with her rather less explored side. ‘Neerja’ is hands down one of the best movies of 2016 and unarguably the best performance by Sonam Kapoor till date. Sonam Kapoor steps entirely into the shoes of Neerja and gives the required perspective of the protagonist that forms the foundation of the engaging cinematic experience.

Even though it can’t be regarded as Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s best performance you can’t seem to shake the eerie presence of Raman Raghav from your mind after this. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is perhaps the only thing that gives this movie its energy and soul in an otherwise clichéd psycho thriller.
