Poonam Kaur

Poonam Kaur is a Hyderabad based actress and model. She appears in Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil films. She is commonly known as Deepa in the film industry since it is her first name. She has done her schooling from Hyderabad Public School. She also was a fashion designing student at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Delhi.

Her first release was a Telugu film named ‘Mayajalam’ in 2006. Though her debut film was Oka Vichitram directed by Teja. Mayajalam got released earlier. She then appeared in many Telugu films. In 2008, Kaur got nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Award for her film ‘Souryam’. She made her Tamil debut of ‘NenjirukkumVarai’, and her Kannada debut from ‘Bandhu Balaga’.

She was also a part of a Tamil film named ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’ which was a remake of ‘ A Wednesday Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ - Bollywood film. She did a supporting role with legends Kamaal Hasan and Mohan Lal. In 2010, she again got nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Award for ‘Gaganam’ – Telugu. Apart from these, she was a part of other films like- In 6 (2013), she played the lead role of a mother who has lost her child in a crowded beach of Chennai.

The audience in 6 appreciated her acting skills. Nagavalli (2010), which was a comedy horror film. Poonam Kaur has been nominated as the brand ambassador for the Miss Telangana Event, recently. She is also running a designer store at Banjara Hills along with her acting career. Therefore, apart from been known as an Indian model turned actress, Kaur is also known as a business woman.
