A film director and a screenwriter S.S. Rajamouli was born as Koduri Srisaila Sri Rajamouli in Film Nagar, Hyderabad, Telangana. He is well known for his hit films like Magadheera, Eega and Baahubali: The Beginning. He started off directing daily soaps in Telegu for Eenadu Television working under K. Raghavendra Rao. His debut as Film director was Student no.1 in 2001 which turned out to be a blockbuster. His next venture was after a long gap of two years, Simhadri, which also received rave reviews. His third flick Sye was based on a game of rugby and for this, he joined hands with K.K. Senthil Kumar. This film received appreciation from all over and was a hit. Vikramarkadu turned out to be a very big hit. One of the most critically acclaimed films was his film, Yamadonga, which won critics’ heart followed by the biggest film for the Telegu industry, Magadheera. The Telegu version of the same film won multiple 8th Toronto After Dark Film Festival Awards for Most Original Film, Best Fights, Best Film to watch with a Crowd, Best Special Effects, Best Comedy, Best Villain, Best Editing, and Best Hero. Not just this, the Telegu version was also screened at various other Film Festivals like 2013 Cannes Film Festival, 16th Shanghai International Film Festival, and Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival.

It bagged the Award for Best Art Direction at the Fantaspoa Film Festival, Brazil and was nominated at the Madrid International Film Festival for multiple categories. Rajamouli’s most recent venture is Baahubali: The Beginning, which was a record-breaking hit and 3rd Global Highest Grossing Indian Film and India’s biggest commercial hit.
