Lakshmi Devy is a Tamil movie actress and a writer. The actress debuted in the Tamil film industry with the super hit movie Masala Padam in 2015 as an actor and a screenplay writer. Lakshmi Devy’s father is a Kerala-based travelogue writer. The actress had always been interested in writing poetry and short story. Lakshmi always wants to pen down a book and publish it. Before Masala Padam movie the actor has been an English, theater artist. Lakshmi has acted in 4 South Indian films and has done over 50 advertisements so far. She has even been a part of SS music channel as a VJ. In Masala Padam, the actress played the lead role alongside Shiva, Bobby Simha, and Gaurav. The movie was filmed and co-produced by cinematographer Laxman Kumar along with Vijayaraghavendra.

In the movie Lakshmi played the role of a medical student, and the film revolved around how people judge movies, it also focused on the people who make movies and the people who criticize them. Lakshmi was among the very few actresses who have penned down for their movies. Masala Padam is a complete entertainer for the audience as it had all elements of romance, action, and comedy making it one of the highest grosser of that year and making a good start for Lakshmi’s career not just as an actress but also as a scriptwriter. Currently, the actor is scripting down for a horror movie and has a wish of working with renowned movie director, writer, and producer Mani Ratnam. Coming from a background where her father is a Malayalam travelogue writer and despite having pursued medicine, she wanted to follow her dad’s footsteps into the cine industry as well. She has also been in the movie "Bramma.com". She was also seen in some Telugu films. She has even done short films like "Patha Vaida parata" and "Suzhlyam". She has moved to Chennai, to build her career in Tamil industry.
