"Meena" needs no introduction in the Southern film industry. She is a terrific performer and had acted in some good films in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada. Her performances in films including Bharathi Kannama, Avvai Shanmugi, Drishyam, Swathi Muthu, Rhythm, Porkkaalam, Rajeshwari Kalyanam, Sethupathi IPS, etc. were commendable. And now her child Nainika, who was born on 1st January 2011, is debuting with the "Vijay" starrer "Theri". It should be noted that Meena also debuted in the film industry as a child artist with the 1982 flick Nenjangal when she was six years old. Nainika is essaying the role of Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay’s daughter in Theri. No sooner the trailer of the much-awaited film was released, the cute little girl became the talk of the town. Also, sources say that the little girl’s acting prowess and dialogue delivery have been embraced by the movie-goers. Theri is directed by "Atlee" of Raja Rani fame.  Vijay is one actor who has a good fan following among kids, and it is sure that Theri will impress them with the additional attraction of Nainika.  When Atlee was searching for an innocent face for Theri, his wife showed him a photo of a young girl. Atlee said that the girl looked like Meena, and his wife confirmed it. Later Atlee approached Meena. Meena thought that Atlee had approached her for a role, but the director had other intentions. He wanted to cast Nainika in the movie. Though Meena was initially hesitant to allow her daughter to act in Theri, Atlee convinced her with his script. Nainika is featured in around 40 scenes in the movie and has dubbed for herself. Also, the story revolves around Nainika.  Meena acted as a child artist with superstar Rajinikanth in Anbulla Rajinikanth. And now her daughter Nainika is sharing screen space with the youth superstar Vijay.  Meena’s mother Raj Mallika was very supportive in molding the film career of her daughter. And now Meena is also following the footsteps of her mother. She has also given acting training to her daughter. Theri is slated to release on April 14th, 2016. We at nettv4u wish Nainika a very promising future.
