Udhay Karthik

Udhay Avishek Karthik is a South Indian actor who works predominantly in Tamil language films. His father, Mohan Reddy, is from Tirupathi, and his mother, Suryakala Yalamanchili, is from Sivakasi. He is the brother of actress Maheswari & the nephew of veteran actress Sridevi. Before starting his career as an actor, Udhay started his journey as an assistant director. Thereafter, Menon decided to cast Udhay as one of the main leads for his new movie ‘Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikaalam.’ The film was set in the backdrop of Chennai's IT industry, and the shooting was about to begin in mid-2007 with the actress Trisha, but due to some reason, it was later delayed and then eventually shelved.

Karthik continued his work with Menon as an assistant director and got an opportunity to get featured in the supporting role of Mahesh in the movie ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’ (2008). The film was a major hit, and the audience was especially impressed by Udhay’s role as Police Commissioner. The movie was later dubbed into Telugu. His movie ‘Dinosaurs,’ was released in 2023. The movie was about an unforgivable and outrageous act manipulated by a notorious gangster Salaiyar which leads to a raging feud between him and an intrepid youngster Mannu (Udhay). The movie was directed by M.R. Madhavan.

Avishek Karthik is an Indian movie actor, who works mainly in the Tamil films industry. He is closely associated with director Gautham Menon, and worked previously as Gautham's assistant in the movies Pachaikili Muthucharam and Vaaranam Aayiram, before making an impact as an actor through the director's experimental thriller movie Nadunisi Naaygal.

Avishek joined Gautham’s directorial team in 2006. He worked with him during the production of the movie Pachaikili Muthucharam, before being signed as one of the four new male lead actors in a movie titled Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikaalam directed by Gautham. The movie, set in the scene of Chennai's IT industry, started its shoot in mid-2007 with Trisha in the leading cast but was later delayed and then eventually put on hold.

Avishek then continued his work with Gautham as an assistant director and appeared in the supporting role of Mahesh, Surya's friend in Varanam Aayiram (2008).

Featured in the film as Deva, Kartik worked out and built his body to portray a cop convincingly. The movie was later also dubbed and released in Telugu, with Avishek's link to actress Sridevi grabbing the movie further attention from the media. In mid-2014, he started to work on Kaathadi, which eventually had a delay in release in February 2018.
