K. Venu Gopal (stage name
) is a film star with a big status in Indian cinema. He is undoubtedly Mollywood A-list actor. He is an actor from Kerala and even has acted in Tamil films. He is undoubtedly one of the best actors in the industry. Since he was a stage actor earlier, his versatile natural acting always coupled with the style of speaking Malayali accent with a coastal touch, made him one of the most successful actor in the industry. His dialogue delivery and facial expressions in films like ‘Saara’, ‘Margam’ and ‘Arimpara’ were a milestone in Malayalam cinema. He has played the role of a protagonist in many awards winning films and received appreciation from many international film festivals too. Many of his films were an adaptation from story or novels and was an author-backed role essaying characters of the landlord, lecturer or ghazal singer.
His breakthrough came from a film ‘Aaravam’, ‘Oridathoru Phayalwan’ and ‘Kallan Pavithran’ which put his strong foothold in Malayalam cinema. He won special jury award for his performance in ‘Margam’ and won his first national award as a best supporting actor in ‘His Highness Abdullah’. His role in ‘Saira’ fetched him the best actor award in Zimbabwe International Film Festival.
The actor also appeared in TV series. This actor was born on May 22, 1948, in Travancore. He is married to T. R. Susheela.
