Badar Khalil is a very famous television personality of Pakistan. She is a wonder woman who has been a part of the cinema industry since the year 1968. Badar Khalil’s birth name is Baddo Apa, and she was born in Lahore, Pakistan. Badar got married to the celebrated Pakistani Director Shahzad Khalil, who unfortunately passed away in the year 1988, at the age of forty-four.
After her marriage, Badar moved to Karachi, situated in Pakistan with her family. The couple has three sons, Umar Khalil, Ibrahim Khalil, and Anas Khalil. Badar raised her children in an almost difficult situation. She accepted all the roles that came her way, small or big, for the sake of buying bread and butter for her family. During the period in which she lived in Lahore, she appeared in a few shows in the LTV.
She entered into stardom in the early 70s, by reprising the role of a spirit in the serial Bi Jamalo. Badar presented a reality show for children, for a while, on PTV. She was widely acclaimed for her strong acting as the protagonist’s aunty, in the 1982 drama Ankahi that was telecasted on PTV. The fame she achieved through that serial, landed her in a family drama Tanhaiyan, in the year 1985.
Badar Khalil is a highly accomplished actor, who has done many memorable roles on the small screen such as Dr. Sheena Karamat in Dhoop Kinare, Chaandni Raatain, as Aqeela Bhabhi in Quddusi Sahab Ki Bewah that was aired on ARY Television,
on Hum TV and a so on. She has done over fifty television plays and is a recipient of several Awards.
Badar Khalil quit Television, in the year 2014 and moved to Canada to live with her son. She had told in an interview that she has not been given due credits and respect for her extraordinary acting and contribution to the Pakistani Television world. The last serial she acted was in the year 2012, in the serial Tanhaiyan Naye Silsilay, which was broadcasted on ARY Digital Television.
