Satinder Sartaaj

Satinder Pal Singh lately known as Satinder Sartaaj has been a famous Punjabi singer, actor, poet, composer, and writer. He was born on 18 May 1982 in the Bajrawar village of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab. He received public eminence for his song " Sai Sai Tamhankar is an actress known for featuring in >> Read More... " and is renowned for his Sufi and folk music. He completed his schooling from government schools in Hoshiarpur and nearby villages Chabbewal and Patti. Later, he went to Government College, Hoshiarpur and graduated in music. He also completed Sangeet Visharad, a five-year diploma course in Jalandhar. Unlike other regional singers, Sartaaj chose to rightfully get educated in the field where he had his passion and completed M. Phil in Sufi music and further achieved Doctorate in Sufi singing from Punjab University.

He also has a Diploma in the Persian language which explains his affinity for folk music all over the world. Sartaaj got married to Gauri, who was his girlfriend for a long period of time on 9 December 2010 at Taj Hotel, Chandigarh. In his early days, Satinder was poetically named as "Takhallus." Later he adopted "Sartaaj" as a pseudonym for being a dedicated writer during his sleepless nights at the Punjab University. He was keen about his love for music and started performing from class 3rd itself at various children stages and participated in musical events. In 2003, he presented a beautiful act at the Dubai International Cultural Festival. At the same, Sartaaj is felicitated as a Best Sufi singer and a prolonged applause amongst 32 countries from around the globe.
