Samir Rawal an Ahmadabad born FTTI, graduated in audio engineering, a keyboard player and music composer. Samir Rawal is the owner of the Dolphin studio in Ahmedabad. Since 1981 he has given orchestra performances on Navratri in clubs like Karnavati and Rajpath every year. Till now over 3000 shows has been performed by Samir Rawal and his group all over India and across the globe. He has his name over 150 films (Gujarati, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Rajasthani and Bhojpuri) The inspiration of music is had been inculcated in Samir Rawal through a stage show by old playback singer Shailendra Singh.
The urge to learn guitar came after the movie Bobby was released. He started learning music in Ahmadabad and also in Mumbai by weekly visits. In 1980, he started his own band when he was still in college where he played the role of guitarist, singer and keyboard player. He started his career by creating jingles and background sounds and T.V Serial title songs. He also contributed his work in AIR and Doordarshan. He opened his own studio in his own house in the year 1991 where he composed and recorded the super duper hit album “Diwani Diwani Diwani” He also worked with Tamil Industry in the year 1994.
His career as a music director officially started in the year 1996 when he composed music for his first featured Gujarati film and after that he used his talent and rendered his music to many other Gujarati movies. He is the pioneer of editing, dubbing, B.G Scores and mixing facilities, not only in Ahmedabad but whole in Gujarat. His studio service is also being utilised by A.R Rahman’s team for Gujarat Government, ISRO, NFDC film and Broadcast. He has given music to 125 films, title music and background music for 150 TV Serials, 2000 jingles, Ad films and documentaries.
He has also shared stages with celebrities like Udit Narayan, Vinod Rathod, Shaan, Javed Ali, Sulakshana Pandit also with film stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Ashutosh Govarikar and many more. He has also given his appearance in reality shows like ‘Sa re ga ma pa’ and ‘Indian Idol’. He also believes in developing skills and talents of upcoming youth that is why he has started a free voice bank for V.O artists and singers ranging from 5-75 years of age. He has also given chance to 40 upcoming singers, lyricists and musician. According to him, “My work is inspired by and have tinge of LakhsmiKant Pyarelal, R.D Burman and Illaiyarajaji’s music.”
Avishek Majumder is a film composer, painter, singer and songwriter well known for his work in “Gadaar: The Traitor” as a music composer and founder of “Tantra Music”. He was born on July 14, 1988, in Siliguri, West Bengal, India.
He did his schooling at St. Joseph School, Siliguri and later from Lincoln High school. Avishek Majumder started his musical training at the age of 4 with his father, Ashim Majuder. In the year 2004, Avishek Majumder moved to Mumbai, to pursue his career in music.
After moving to Mumbai, he started training in Western classical music and Jazz. While going through the training, Avishek Majumder appeared for various exams for Trinity College, London School of Music and Associate Board of Royal School of Music, London. Before entering into Bollywood industry, Avishek Majumder used to sing for Advertisements jingles and non-film music.
He made his debut in film Industry as a film composer in 2013. He is well known for combining melodies and western harmonies with traditional instrumentation in his soundtracks. Before entering film industry as a composer, Avishek Majumder composed for Vulture in 2010.
Vulture is a short film about Doctor Sujoy, who is in the phase between death and rebirth, on the journey to hell and he is looking back at all the sins he has done all his life. He also composed for short films like Hunger (2014), Greed (2014) and many more.
Avishek Majumder made a debut as a Film Composer in 2013 with the comedy, Four Two Ka One. He also gave music to some of the songs of the movie too. “Kitno Ka Dil”, “Ishq Di Baatein” and many others were also part of his work. After this, he worked in movies Yeh toh Two Much Ho Gaya (2016). In “Yeh Toh Two Much Hogya” he gave music for songs, ”Party Time”, Hairat-e-Aashiqui” and“Chappan Taal”. He also composed the background score for various movies like “Gaddar: The Traitor”, a Punjabi Feature film and “Saadey CM Sahab.”
Avishek Majumder also served as the music director on Vipin Prashar’s, Udanchhoo. Udanchhoo is a comedy-drama movie in which Guru G, with the help of his trusted devotee Billu and Jullia, is running a black money operation in his Aashram. The movie goes on, showing how all characters start getting involved in a huge con mystery. The result is a funny and dramatic climax. The title track “Udanchhoo” and “Bhulbhulaiya” are two songs composed by Avishek Majumder in the movie.
