Vibhavari Deshpande is a popular face of Marathi Films in Indian Cinema. She was born in the Maharashtra state of India. She studied in Garware High School in Pune before pursuing her graduation in Mass Communication from Fergusson College. Her father founded the “International Book Services” Book Store which is run by her father, Upendra Dixit. Her mother is also a part of the cinema and is a writer and a critique of theater. Her grandmother was also a famous writer of drama, Muktabai Dixit. She is a known writer, actor, and director. Vibhavari started her journey towards the film industry in her college days where is played an active part in college dramas. She was always keen and attended various workshops and courses by Satyadev Dubey and National School of Drama respectively.

While in college, she mainly took part in off-screen work such as writing. She is the dialogue writer of “Agnihotra” that aired on the Star Pravah, a Marathi TV Channel. She has also directed a play titled “Gumma Banda Gumma,” a Kannada language play. Vibhavari got her first break in the blockbuster hit “Shwaas” in 2004. She played a cameo of a receptionist. This film went on to receive many awards. Her second break was the role of Ketki in “SaatchyaAatGharat” in 2004 itself. The show was produced by Smita Talwalkar and revolved around seven college students of whom Ketki was one. She also got the opportunity to work in the mainstream Hindi cinema and played a few side roles.

In 2009, she received her big chance to work on a historical movie based on the life of Dadasaheb Phalke who has the title of the ‘Father of Indian Cinema’. She played the role of his wife Saraswati Phalke, a supportive wife who encouraged her husband towards producing the first full-length Indian feature film named “Raja Harishchandra”. This movie was titled “Harishchandrachi Factory”. She won the award for Best Actress for her role of Saraswati at MICTA Awards. Based on a Novel named “Natarang” by Anand Yadav, she worked on a film by the same name in 2010. Her character was of Dwarka, the wife of the lead character Guna. She was a wife that did not appreciate her husband’s work in Tamasha industry.

In 2011, she worked in another historical film this time based on the life of legendary Marathi stage actor and singer, Bal Gandharva Bal Gandharva is an Indian Playback Singer and a S >> Read More... . Her role of BalGandharva’s wife, Laxmi who was very supportive of her husband even though he performed the roles of women in the theater when the women refused to act it. She acted in few more films like “Deool” in 2011, “Chintoo” in 2012, and “Tuhya Dharma Koncha?” in 2012. She even acted and directed plays like “MH-12 Mukkam Post Pune”, and “GayabGeet” respectively. She is married to Harikesh Deshpande and has a daughter named Radha Deshpande.
