Smita Gondkar is a multifaceted personality of India. She had begun her acting career in 2007 with Mumbaicha Dabewala, a Marathi movie. However, she also worked in Hindi and Sindhi movies. 

Smita had been the representative of the Maharashtra State Kayaking Team and that too as the Team Captain of the game. Since then she has been a major visiting faculty member where she imparted her knowledge to the Army Cadets for White Water Kayaking Expedition.

Smita has done a lot more in the field of sports and has emerged the winner at state level in Rowing and Skulking events in her college days and has also competed for National Judo and State level swimming in school times. She also has a deep interest and passion for sky-diving and dirt track racing. She is also well-trained in stunk biking, which is a rarity as far as women are concerned. She emerged as the only woman semi-finalist in the stunt show MTV Pulsar Stunt Mania aired in 2009. Smita gives live performances in several style biking stunt events in India. 

Smita was a brilliant student and worked in ads and video albums initially. Smita had endeavored into a silent film also. 

Smita Gondkar had been fascinated towards acting and filming since her childhood days. She has participated in several plays, ramp shows, fashion shows during school and college time. Smita was a cruise worker with Disney Cruise Line before coming to India. Smita is a connieuser of wines. She had imparted her knowledge to the Food & Beverage Department Staff. She then decided to travel around India and get an insight of  Indian Heritage. At this juncture, she was approached by producers for modeling. 

Smita is living in Mumbai now. She was married to Siddharth Banitya, who was a politician. She got into a controversy when she accused her husband of forgery. After this, Smita’s roles were also quite controversial. Though Smita was initially considered for the role of Silk Smita, the famous southern siren, the plan didn’t work out. 

Due to her boldness, Smita was also approached to work as the stunt double of Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif Katrina Kaif is a prominent and very popular Briti >> Read More... . However, Smita declined since she wanted to do stunts for herself. Also, she felt that she would not be recognized by being a stunt double. 

Smita has appeared in the Marathi music video named Pappi De Parula, which went on to become a hit. She is attired in a bikini for this song. 

Smita is one actress who has well maintained her figure. She featured in a red bikini in a Marathi flick Hip Hip Hurray and gathered attention. In fact, it seems the producers of Marathi film industry were cashing on her glamour quotient. 

Smita thinks highly of legendary Smita Patel, and she dreamt of doing similar roles of the latter when she was a newcomer to the industry. But ultimately she learnt that her glamour quotient should be good to get roles similar to that of the Late Smita. However, Smita was candid enough in admitting that her well-maintained body helped her in glamour. 
Smita has done over 20 films like Main Hoon Rajnikanth, Hip Hip Hurray, Maya, Just Gammat, Satya- More than Human, Ek Adalat and some more. 

Though comedy is the strength of Smita she has also worked in a serious movie Satya. 

According to Smita, indulging in sports is par to a stress buster. She is one celebrity who has proved to be successful in films too because sportswomen haven't frequented the entertainment industry. 

Let's hope Smita gets many serious roles in future.
