Marina Khan

Marina Khan is a well-known television actress from Pakistan. The actress is also known as ‘Pink Panther’ for her role in the hit television series, ‘Tanhaiyan’ in the year 1985. Marina was born on 26th December in the year of 1962 in the city of Peshawar in Pakistan. She was born to an inter-culture family in which her mother was English and a Pakistani father. Her father was an army personnel and did his service in Pakistan Air Force. Due to her father’s job, Marina and her family had to move to different places in almost every two years. She said in an interview that she did not have many permanent and best friends in her childhood unlike any average child would have had. She had a close relationship with her brother whose name was Zarak, who studied in a boarding school so that the constant shifting wouldn’t affect his studies. Marina was active in her school days and had done several plays. She entered the field of television through a coincidence that took place when she had visited her friend who played in the then serial ‘Jungle’ and met with director Shehzad Khalil. He had managed to talk Marina into starring in his newest venture. Marina made her debut appearance in Shehzad Khalil’s ‘Rashid Minha’ a drama series in the popular television channel PTV. In 1985, she found her ticket to fame and recognition through Shehzad Khalil’s next television series named ‘Tanhaiyan’. As an actress she managed to appear in many Pakistani television dramas such as ‘Dhoop Kinare’ in the year 1988, Faraar in 1996, Parosi in 1992, etc. Marina later turned to directing and made many television serials such as ‘Azar Ki Ayegi Baraat’ and Umeed-e-Sehr. She, later on, went to establish her production house, Fat Cat Productions with her husband, Jalil Akhtar. Marina married Jalil Akhtar whom she had met at the sets of Dhoop Kinare. She is one of the finest actors in the history of Pakistani television and has worked for over 25 long years in the industry. She was also a well-known host of famous television shows and also hosted her cookery show.


Sarwat Gilani

Sarwat Gilani is a Pakistani model, singer, and an actress. She was born on 22 December, 1982 at Peshawar, Khyber, Pakistan. She is the granddaughter of Nawab of Manavdar and has Pashtun ancestory from her grandmother’s side. She is married to a Cosmetology surgeon and actor Fahad Mirza. They married in August 2014.She is a mother of two kids. The elder son’s name is Rohan Mirza and the younger son’s name is Araiz Muhammad Mirza. She made her debut in Film Industry in 2009 when she was offered a role in the Television show named Azar Ki Ayegi Baraat. The show was a comedy drama, created by GEO TV. The star cast of the shows included Saba Hameed, Bushra Ansari, Shehryar Zaidi, Samina Ahmed, and many others. In 2009, she played a role of Laila in the movie “Shadi Aur Tum Say?” directed by Uzma Nadeem. She kept on working in Television series for a while. She worked in many shows such as Aahista Aahista, Dil e Muztar - a Pakistani drama serial, directed by Shahzad Kashmiri. Later, she worked in Dil Ki Madham Boliyan, Hotel, Ishq Gumshuda, Ishq Ki Inteha, and others. In 2013, Sarwat Gilani got a role in a film named “Dil Mera Dhadkan Teri,” directed by Mehreen Jabbar, starring Waheed Murad and Rani in the lead role, while Sarwat Gilani played the supporting role in the movie. Later that year, she also got a role offer from Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani. Her roles were appreciated by the audience and later got a lot of popularity from a Television series. The name of the series was Ishq Gumshuda, directed by Haissam Hussain. She continued playing various lead roles in Television shows. In 2014, she got a role in a short film, named “Baat Cheet”, directed by Rayika Choudhari. Later in 2015, she got a role in Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, directed by Nadeem Beyg, starring Humayun Saeed, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahmad Ali Butt, Vasay Chaudhary, Ayesha Khan, Uzma Khan, Sarwat Gillni, Mehwish Hayat, Sohai Ali Abro, and many others. While she was offered roles in movies, she continued working with Television firms too. She was playing roles of supportive actress in Malaal, Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu, Saiqa, Sheer Khurma, and others. In 2016, she played the voice of Saadi’s mother in 3 Bahadur: The Revenge of Baba Balaam, an animated film directed by Sharmeen Obaid. It was the sequel of 3 Bahadur. She is currently working in the movie named Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, a sequel of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani. This movie is directed , produced, and written by Nadeem Beyg.
