Rajat Barmecha emerged to the Bollywood circuit with his role in the Hindi movie ‘
Udaan,’ released in 2010. The movie showcased the struggle of a small town boy and how he battles his dreams from his father. The movie was highly acclaimed both by the audience and the critics, which was directed by Vikramaditya Motwane.
Rajat also won a nomination for Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer for the movie.
Rajat was born on April 24, 1989, in Ladnun, Rajasthan and did his schooling from Bal Bharti Public School, Delhi. His two siblings Ritu and Vicky are also part of the film Industry. While Ritu has given hits in the Telugu industry, Vicky is waiting for his film, ‘Umeedein,’ to be released on the silver screen. The three siblings together have done Godrej Interio ad, after arriving to Mumbai.
Rajat won a National Award in 2011 for his Short Film, ‘The Finish Line,’ and the film was acclaimed. He also made a cameo in Bejoy Nambiar’s Shaitan, and is currently waiting for the release of his film, ‘ Disco Valley,’ where he is sharing screen space with Naseeruddin Shah’s son

and praises the rock band for helping him find the meaning in the world. He grew close to the band during the shooting of Udaan and is also featured in one of the songs of the band named, ‘Bula Raha Hai Koi Mujhko.’
