 Imran Zahid is an Indian theatre and film actor, who became popular after he starred in Mahesh Bhatt’s The Last Salute, which was directed by Arvind Gaur. Imran was born on January 11, 1982, in Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand in India. He started acting while studying in Bokaro and subsequently he took a B. Com degree at the Hindu College, Delhi University. While studying at the University, he got involved in Arvind Gaur’s theatre group and acted in numerous stage plays. He continued his acting career even after he became a professor. Imran runs a media school in Delhi, and he is closely associated to Mahesh Bhatt, whom he met during a conference in Dubai in the year 2007.  In 2010, it was reported that he will play the main lead role in Mahesh Bhatt’s Chandu; a film about Chandrashekhar Prasad, a student leader of the Jawaharlal Nehru University and a member of the Communist Party of India, who died on March 31, 1997, after being shot during a political rally. However, the film earned criticisms from the student of the university and since then, it has not progressed.  In the play, The Last Salute, Imran portrayed the role of Muntadhar Al-Zaidi, and Mahesh Bhatt proposed to make it a film with Imran reprising his role. It was also announced that Imran will be part of Mahesh Bhatt’s Bollywood crime thriller film, Jannat 2; however, he chose to play as a narcotics detective in the erotic thriller film, Jism 2, which is also a film by Mahesh Bhatt and marks as his debut film. Imran was also announced to play the main lead, opposite Zoya Morani, in Mahesh Bhatt’s Marksheet, which was inspired by Ranjit Don’s story about the Indian education scam. He also played as the protagonist in the play, Trial of Errors, by Mahesh Bhatt, which opened in Delhi in the year 2013.  Bhatt also made stage adaptations of his 1982 film, Arth and Imran were chosen to play the main lead role. He also acted in the theatrical adaptation of Bhatt’s 1989 film, Daddy, which brought Pooja and Mahesh Bhatt into tears. He is also set to appear in the remake of Bhatt’s autobiographical film, Janam. Initially, the actor shared that he prefers to have an arranged marriage and in 2013, it was reported that he already tied the knot with Delhi-based, Huma Siddique. Their wedding was held in Bokaro and was attended by some friends and family.
