Bibhu Bhattacharya

The Bengali Indian actor, who has worked in both TV and films, was born in Jharia, Bihar, British India on 17 September 1944 (now Jharia is located in Jharkhand). He is one among the most legendary actors of India. He is remembered profoundly because of his memorable roles. He died on September 22, 2011. He never attended school; he was interested in acting, watching plays and doing theater. His acting captured the attention of the viewers, and his popularity grew. He did perfect justice to the role of Jatayu. He appeared as Jatayu for the first time in the film Jahangirer Shornomudra, which released in 1999. He played the role in several other movies like Bombaiyer Bombete, Tintorettor Jishu, Royal Bengal Rahasya and others.

It was hard to replace his perfection but after his death, Santosh Datta played the role. He also did several other films Thakur Haridas, Purir Mandir, Sree Sree Maa, Abelay Garam Bhaat, Bela Sheshe, Aalo Chaya and several others. Bhibu Bhattacharya died due to Cardiac Arrest on September 22, 2011, at his residence at Howrah, Calcutta. His legacy ended right after he finished the final dubbing for his last Feluda film.
