Ritu Kochhar

Ritu Kochhar is a model. She is also a prominent educationist, fashion critic, and leading columnist. Ritu Kochhar is also the founder Director of National Institute of Fashion Design Limited (NIFD Ltd) which is the largest network of design institutions of about 180 branches in India and also abroad. Apart from these, she has also worked in the Hindi Film Industry. Ritu Kochhar received her degree in fashion from Annamalai University. She then joined the British College of Professional Styling where she learned to be a Professional Stylist, Professional Styling for Films, TV, Photography and Personal Styling. Ritu Kochhar then joined the Panjab University where she studied History and received a degree in it. From July of the year 2001, Ritu Kochhar started her career as a professional Fashion Stylist.

Having an experience of more than 20 years, she has styled people from every background including celebrities, models, working women, teenagers, professionals, and students. She also does personal styling like grooming, from makeup to wardrobe selection. Her services also include personal shopping, corporate or casual or wedding dressing or even fine-dining and business etiquette. Ritu Kochhar has also been part of the magazine called Hindustan Times in which she was a columnist and wrote about fashion every week named Fashion Hotline for about seven years. In the year 1995, Ritu Kochhar became the Director of International Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) in Chandigarh, India. She is solely responsible for its growth from NIFD to INIFD. This expansion is said to be one of the widest design institution networks.

Ritu Kochhar sets the design programmes, and she is the one who represents the institution in all national and global forums. During the Lakme Fashion Week, she conducts workshops and also for other prominent events. Ritu Kochhar, with her years of experience, she has mastered both the art and science of Fashion Design. While becoming the director of NIFD, she got the chance to conceptualize and develop on many problems in fashion design projects. Ritu Kochhar once appeared as a Fashion Consultant in the radio station 92.7 FM in August of the year 2005. She was termed as Young Turks as a young achiever by CNBC in the year of 1999 for her achievement in establishing an international network of the design school NIFD. She is one the most talented businesswomen, and she established herself very well with her hard work and extreme determination.
