Anukreethy Vas

Anukreethy Vas is a model and rose to fame after becoming Miss India Miss India was a TV serial that was aired on Doord >> Read More... 2018. She was born on September 28 in the year 1998. She belongs to Tiruchirapalli in the state of Tamil Nadu and spent her childhood there.

Her family life was full of struggles. Her father left her and her mother when she was a young girl aged merely seven years. She lived with her mother who raised her single handedly. Her mother is a native of the state of Kerala. Anukreethy’s mother tongue is the language Malayalam, and she belongs to Kerala.

She completed her early education from Montfort School located in Trichi. She attended R. S. Krishnan Higher Secondary School for further studies. After her schooling, Anukreethy is currently completing a degree at Loyola College in Chennai. She is studying French literature and aims to become a translator.

She has a younger sibling, a brother who is currently in school. Apart from modeling, Anukreethy likes riding motorbikes and playing different sports. Her career in pageants got noticed when she won the Femina Miss India Tamil Nadu contest held in February in the year 2018. Her victory also opened doors to her entry to Femina Miss India Peagant 2018.

In the competition, she received the sub-category award for Miss Beautiful smile. She also won the Beauty with a Purpose winner. After winning the title of Miss India she further received the opportunity to represent India at the Miss World pageant 2018 which took place in Sanya in China on December 8, 2018.

At the contest she went up to the top 18 contestants of the talent round. She also secured a place in the top 30 girls in the competition by winning a challenge called the head to head round. In her Miss India contest the last question that she replied to and won the hearts of the judges was whether success is a better teacher or failure.

She replied gracefully stating that failure taught a person much more than success. She cited examples from her own life in the village and the failures she went through, the criticism she faced, the hardships she and her mother braved and conquered and how each obstacle that she overcame made her stronger as an individual and increased her motivation to achieve her dreams and goals in life, both personally and professionally. She was 19 years of age when she became Miss India in the year 2018.
