Bijou Thaangjam is a familiar face in the Indian film industry. He is an art director, a lyricist, an actor and, a professional chef. He was born as Thangjam Biju Singh on March 24, 1986. The multi-talented personality hails from the beautiful city of Imphal in the Manipur state of India. He joined the Bollywood industry in the year 2011. He is widely accredited for his notable roles in Bollywood hits like Mary Kom and Shivaay. Other than that, he made his presence felt in the reality TV cooking competition Master Chef India 2011, in its second season, as of the contestants. He was shortlisted as one of the top fifty chefs to compete at the grandest stage of Indian cooking reality television.

He later shifted his attention in the film industry when he debuted as an actor in Omung Kumar’s hit project Mary Kom in the year 2014, where he worked alongside the likes of Priyanka Chopra. He additionally debuted as a lyricist for the same film. A couple of years later, he became a part of Ajay Devgan’s pet project, that is, a Hindi movie directed and produced by him, in the movie Shivaay where he played the character of Kancha. He did commendable work in hit projects like Happy Phir Bhag Jayegi, Jagga Jasoos, Vodka Diaries, Paltan and many more.

His debut film as an art director was III Smoking Barrels, which also ended up with a nomination for him in the category of Best Art Director in the year 2018 in Prag Cine Awards. He played Tej Bahadur Thapa in a web series called The Test Case, which is an Alt Balaji production. He has been a part of more feature films like Karma Café, Robin Hood Ke Pote and Penalty, the latter being due for a commercial release in the year 2019. His other less known projects include My Japanese Niece, where he played a local tour guide and Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, where he plays the Valley guy. His television presence has also been memorable as he was in some of TV’s hit shows like MasterChef India, V’s Dil Dosti Dance, Superstar Santa, Viacom 18’s Code Red, and TRAFFIC.
