Thikka Movie Review

2 / 5.0

Directed by Sunil Reddy, 'Thikka' offers us a breakup and patch up story. It stars Sai Dharam Tej, Larissa Bonesi, and Mannara in leading roles.

Plot: The story is about a young guy Aditya(Sai Dharam Tej) who enjoys his life to the fullest. He falls in love with a girl named Anjali(Larissa Bonessi). But things don't work out well and eventually they breakup. After the breakup, Aditya organizes a breakup party to overcome depression but this night complicates his life even more. He has so many characters in his life who add to the confusions between him and Anjali. A call girl, an annoyed father of girlfriend, and a dangerous goon are a few to name. But by the end of the flick Aditya settles everything, become responsible and get back his love.

Analysis: The trailers of the flick were promising, but after watching the film, you will realize that it had no new flavors than the trailer. Sunil Reddy's direction offers nothing but a headache. We wonder, how could he and actors say yes to this script. Although the story has nothing to rejoice but the technical department, have added in making a bad movie. Be it screenplay or editing or music, all are below average. Songs misfit the situations in 'Thikka' and they are not even entertaining. Only Production values and Camera work is little satisfactory. The script is the biggest problem as in the initial minutes only you will start cursing yourself for choosing this movie as your weekend treat. The cast has tried hard to make something of this flick, but all their efforts are useless.

Star Performances: Sai Dharam Tej's acting is the only attraction in this flick. He has performed his character with full zeal. Larissa Bonesi and Mannara are also good but like other movies, writers haven't invested time much time to build their characters and are just a showpiece. There are so many characters who all make any entry from nowhere and then leave without any impact on audience, which forces us to think what was their role. Satya is great with his comedy. Veteran actor Rajendra Prasad also succeed in making an impact.

What's there ????

1. Sai Dharam Tej has justified his character fully.

2. Audiences will surely enjoy few funny gags and punches offered by the script.

3. Although the first half of the film is boring, second half compensates it by being interesting.

4. Larissa Bonesi looks glamorous in her role.

What's not there ????

1. There is no chemistry between Sai Dharam Tej and Larissa Bonesi.

2. The story is stale and for the entire 140 minutes, you know what the climax would offer you.

3. Music is a disaster as it just irritates the viewer and may lead to a headache.

4. The screenplay is a let down in 'Thikka.'

5. Female character required some more depth and research.

Verdict: Book your tickets for this weekend of 'Thikka' only if you want to see the 'Supreme' hero's hard work to save a dying film. Else, enjoy 'Rustom' or 'Mohenjo Daro who are worth your bucks.
