Plot

Nikhil is the son of an NRI couple living in the USA. The family was having happy days until Nikhil’s father was cheated by his friend. Eventually, the father of Nikhil becomes bankrupt. While Nikhil’s father attempts suicide, Nikhil saves him and goes to Bihar in India to sell the old property named Shankarabharanam Bungalow. But his friend Saptagiri warns Nikhil that this is quite difficult since certain goons will obstruct the process. Analysis

Sankarabharanam is a remake of the 2010 flick Phas Gaye Re Obama. But it is not a loyal remake since it also gives significance to the family drama other than kidnapping business. Also, the initial half of the film is totally dissimilar to the original. This movie that is touted to be a crime comedy seems to be a blend of several genres; debutant Uday has tried to intersperse various elements into this movie.

What’s there?

1. The second half is engrossing.
2. Some of the comedy scenes including that of Prudhvi's will tickle your humor bones. In fact, comedy is the highlight of the movie.
3. The music and BGM complement the theme of the movie.
4. The production values are good.
5. Praveen Lakkaraju’s music is average.
6. Richard Prasad’s cinematography is commendable.
7. Chinna’s artwork is noteworthy.

What’s not there?

1. The second half goes in a slow pace.
2. Sometimes the movie goes on predictable lines.
3. Some songs seem to have been added to the movie just for the sake of it.
4. Kona Venkat could have worked on the story in a better manner.
5. The dialogues (by Kona Venkat) could have been penned in a satisfactory manner.
6. Sreekar Prasad’s editing could have been much better.

Verdict

The movie can be watched once for its comedy elements and Anjali’s presence.
