Raju Gari Gadhi is the directorial venture of Ohmkar, who had helmed the direction of Genius (which bombed at the box office) earlier. This film is a horror comedy all the way.
Raju Gari is a perilous Mahal in Nandima. Those who want to unravel the mystery surrounding it are being killed. And to add to the luster for the movie there is a reality show centering the dangerous bungalow, organized by a renowned television channel. A team of youngsters are asked to spend time for over a week in the bungalow and they would be given 3 crores as prize for succeeding in the attempt. And now you have got to watch the film to find out what is actually dreaded in the bungalow.
Well, by now you would have thought that this film would be spine-chilling but there are also the humorous elements interspersed throughout the flick. Ashwin Babu Ashwin is a talented and well known Telugu actor w >> Read More... (Ohmkar’s brother) and Dhanya Balakrishna’s performances are average. Ashwin could have concentrated more on the dialogue delivery. Poorna, who has a significant character in the movie, could have performed better. Chetan has a plump role and does well. Eashanya is added for the glamour of the film. In his limited space Saptagiri has done a neat job.
You will just keep laughing throughout the initial half of the flick. In this regard, the director had even inserted some crude comedy just for the sake of it. This may even offend a section of the audience. The second half gears up in a thriller fashion and is quite engrossing.
Horror mixed with comedy is doing quite well in Tollywood now and the director has smartly touched on this theme. This film takes us back to Lawrence’s Ganga .
Some comic scenes are unsophisticated. As the film takes gear, it loses logic. However, the scenes involving Pawan Kalyan Pawan needs no introduction to South Indian people >> Read More... and RGV is presented well.
Sai Karthik’s music, though is banging, is apt. Sai Madhav Burra’s dialogues are comical sometimes. Gnanam’s cinematography is relevant. The plot is tolerable.
Verdict: Those who are ok with any sort of comedy can watch this film once; the flick can also be watched for the horror element in it.
