Bimbisara is a fantasy thriller flick scripted and directed by Mallidi Vashist. NTR Arts produced the film. “Chota K Naidu” cranked the camera and the editing is by Tammi Raju. The songs are composed by Chirrantan Bhatt, Varikuppala Yadagiri, and MM Keeravani. The BGM is by Keeravani. Nandamuri Kalyan Ram plays the titular role. The film also has Catherine Tresa, Samyuktha Menon, Warina Hussain, Vennela Kishore, Srinivas Reddy, “Brahmaji,” Prakash Raj, Sai Kiran, and Ayyappa P. Sharma.

Plot

Bimbisara rules Trigartala. He concentrates only on conquering other kingdoms, and he is left with no mercy. One fine day, he suffers due to a curse and is sent to the future world that has huge problems. Why was he sent to the future? Was he able to go back? Who cursed him and why? All these questions are answered in the film.

Star Performance

Kalyan Ram has lived in the character, and we can say that this is his career-best performance so far. When seeing him playing a cruel king, his expressions make us feel that he has gone deep into the character. His body language and dialogue delivery are perfect. Catherine Tresa and Srinivas Reddy have got good roles, and they have done justice to the given roles. Vennela Kishore and Prakash Raj are decent with their performances. The rest of the cast has done justice to the given roles.

Analysis

The script is interestingly penned with a time travel concept. The BGM by Keeravani adds positivity to the film. The time travel sequences are neat. The visuals are excellent, and the VFX team should be appreciated for their fantastic work. Catherine Tresa fits well in the role and impresses the audience. Samyuktha didn’t get a strong role. Though the main characters are penned well, the supporting roles are not written perfectly, and they do have some minus points.

What’s There?

  • The performances of the lead stars are good
  • The BGM, visuals, and VFX are fantastic

What’s Not There?

  • All the characters are not penned well

Verdict

With the eye-catchy visuals and performances, Bimbisara carries a different script. It is definitely a one-time watch!
