Bhama Kalapam is scripted and directed by Abhimanyu Tadimeti. “Priyamani,” Shanthi Rao, John Vijay, Pammi Sai, Kishore Kumar Polimera, and Saranya Pradeep are cast for prominent roles. Bapineedu and Sudheer produced the film. Justin Prabhakaran and “Mark K Robin” composed the music. Deepak Yeragara cranked the camera, and Viplav Nyshadam edited the film.
Anupama is a famous Youtuber. Like making YouTube videos, she is interested in what happens next door. Shilpa, her helper, works in many houses and gives details about every house to Anupama, and both share good gossip chemistry. A couple living in Anupama’s neighborhood always fight. Out of curiosity, she visits them and finally gets stuck in a murder. Who was murdered? What happens to Anupama? Did she involve in the murder? The rest of the film deals with it.
Priyamani performed well as Anupama. Her body language and expressions are fantastic. Saranya Pradeep is good with her role as a maid. John Vijay’s performance is neat, and Kishore is good too. Pammi Sai and Shanthi have given a decent performance.
Bhama Kalapam has a decent story. But, the second half didn’t impress much as the first half that comes with some good performances and interesting scenes. The inquiry scenes are not up to the mark, and the screenplay moves slowly in the second half. The cinematography and the BGM are okayish.
What’s Not There?
If the director had continued the screenplay’s pace throughout the film as in the first half, the film might have been better. However, it is watchable once for the performances!
