Prapanchan is a cop. Karnan is his foster father. A masked gang kills the cops and Prapanchan too gets killed. Soon, it is said that his father is also killed in an incident. Jose, the Chief Officer, brings an efficient team of cops headed by Amar to dig the series of killings. While Amar starts investigating, he finds out various information about Prapanchan’s father Karnan. Was Karnan dead, really? Amar also finds out that Santhanam is responsible for such incidents. Was he able to pick the plot from the gang? Who is Karnan and what was his plan? The rest of the film speaks about it.

Star Performance

Kamal Haasan has excelled in his role, as usual. His emotional performances are fantastic. Fahadh grabs the attention of the audience. He has got a meaty role and he utilized the opportunity and emoted well. Vijay Sethupathi has done his role, casually. Narain is impressive with his small yet significant role. Suriya’s cameo is stunning.

Lokesh Kanagaraj has mixed his style which we saw in “Kaithi” and Kamal’s excellence to give an action entertainer. Though a few scenes are predictable, it would satisfy the Kamal fans and action movie lovers. Lokesh’s talent in getting the work done is visible. The first half is well-shot and Fahadh has a lot to do in the first half and he did it with perfection. Certain scenes resemble Lokesh's Kaithi, but those scenes which everyone admired in Kaithi have gone missing in Vikram. When Amar finds the truth about Karnan, the story didn’t have many twists and it moves straight without any turns. The cinematography is good and the songs and BGM by Anirudh are good.

What’s There?

  • Excellent action and emotional scenes
  • The screenplay is good in the first half
  • The performances of Kamal and Fahadh are impressive

What’s Not There?

  • In some places, the highly expected twists are missing

If you are a Kamal fan and an action movie lover, then this film will definitely impress you!
