Plot

Bose Kaalai is a farmer who has a beautiful family that includes his wife Chandra, son Selva and daughter Mangai. Besides them, Bose is very affectionate towards his brother. In a situation, he gets into a murder case when his brother's life stuck in an issue. He was sent to prison and following this, his family shatters. Chandra, who turns angry with Bose takes her children to Chennai and manages to raise them. Although she was initially angry with her husband, she meets him occasionally in prison. But, neither his daughter nor his son had met Bose when he was jailed. Time runs away and Selva is now doing business and Mangai is a law student. She also helps her brother in his business. It's been 16 years since Bose was put in the prison and now he gets released. How did his family welcome him? Did Selva and Mangai move closer with their dad? Watch the movie to know the rest.

Star Performance

Sarath and Radhika's chemistry is astounding. They did their roles excellently. Vikram Prabhu and Aishwarya did their level best. Madonna, Amitash, Nandha and Shanthanu had done justice to the given roles.

Analysis

Vaanam Kottattum didn't have any unusual plot, but the screenplay and direction are different. Although the movie moves at a slow pace, the audience will not feel bored, as the story gives them enough things to enjoy. Mani Ratnam's script and Dhana's direction had done wonders. Visuals are fantastic and Sid Sriram had done his best in the BGM and the songs. The movie is completely based on relationship and the feelings of the people are projected well. Dhana proved that he is from the school of Mani Ratnam.
