Well, here is another cop story in the history of Tamil cinema. All these movies have one thing in common; fighting against injustice, and Tharkappu too does that. Sakthi is not seen on the silver screen for a long time and in this movie, he dons the role of a police officer.

Plot

Riyaz Khan Riyaz Khan is a Tamil and Malayalam film and telev >> Read More... is a serial killer, and his life is taken away in a police encounter. This encounter is under the supervision of Sakthi, who was asked by his superior to do so. The case is twisted as a shootout between the baddies and the police. And there is also the romantic element to the movie.

Star Performances

Sakthivel gets into the skin of his character and his body language, and expressions are flawless. Samuthirakani has been given a powerful role, and he has done full justice. Other than Shakthi and Samuthirakani the other artists are newcomers. Vatsan, Sathish, Amisha, and Sathish have done what is required of them.

Analysis

Tharkappu is a film that opposes police encounters. Debutante director R P Ravi has perceived in a humanitarian perspective. A sword for a sword is not the answer to everything, and this has been told in a thoughtful manner by the director.
Also, R P Ravi should be applauded for coming up with a powerful message in his debut film itself. It is clear that the director has a strong understanding of the value system of the society. Also, the director is careful enough in not being too sermonizing. The wrong doings of the corrupt politicians and how they make sincere police officers as their scapegoats is shown beautifully in this movie. Certain scenes in the movie prove that the director is very meticulous in his details.
