2.25 / 5.0

Taana” is scripted and directed by Yuvaraj Subramani. The film has Vaibhav Reddy, Nandita Swetha, Yogi Babu, Hareesh Peradi, “Pandiarajan,” Uma Padmanabhan and Vela Ramamoorthy in the cast. The movie is produced by Positive Print Pictures. Vishal Chandrashekhar composed the music.

Shakti's family has some historical background. Right from the British period, one of his family people had been working in the police department. So, Shakti’s father, who had also served in the police department, expresses his wish to Shakti that he should also become a cop. But he is not interested as he has a voice disorder. When Shakti becomes tense, his voice changes like a girl. That's the main reason for Shakti to avoid the police job. But, there comes a situation to turn his idea and he becomes a cop. Shakti had to face a biggie, while he deals with a fraudster gang. What happened to Shakti? Watch the movie to know the rest.

Star Performance

Vaibhav has done his job perfectly. Pandiarajan and Uma played his parents and they fit well in the roles. Yogi Babu is cool, as usual. Nandita Swetha, Hareesh Peradi, Vela Ramamoorthy and the rest of the cast had done justice to the given roles.

The director tried might have tried a different movie with a different syndrome. But, it is not unusual for Vaibhav as he had already done similar films, where he suffers from some syndromes. The talented Vaibhav should choose better scripts to move to the next level in the cinema. However, he has done a perfect job in the movie. The film also has regular aspects like the father-son relationship, caring mother and loving girlfriend, etc. Although there are a lot of logical loopholes, the movie goes interestingly only with Vaibhav and Yogi Babu.

What's There?

  • Performances of Vaibhav and Yogi Babu
  • The production values are good

What's Not There?

  • A lot of logical loopholes
  • Stereotype roles by Vaibhav

The movie might be illogical, but it has some fun for this weekend!
