Suriya is fantastic as ever. Aparna fits well in the role. Urvashi, Poo Ramu, Mohan Babu, Kaali Venkat and Karunas did a great job. Although some of the artists appear in a cameo, their performance made us speak about them. Krishnakumar and Vivek Prasanna play Suriya’s friends and they appear throughout the film.
Before getting into the script and performance analysis, we have to praise GV Prakash for his songs and BGM. Maara and Veyyon Silli are astounding. Coming to Sudha Kongara, she had already hyped up the expectations with Irudhi Suttru and she didn’t leave any stones unturned. Star selection and direction are perfect. Characterization of Suriya and Aparna is good. Mohan Babu’s character might appear as a small one, but in the climax, we feel the importance of his character. Right from the village people to his friends, everyone stands by Maara and that’s the big positive point in the film.
What’s Not There?
Sudha had not added anything cinematic, except a scene in the climax. The film showcases how a person faces a lot of hurdles to achieve success in life and what are the cheap tricks used by the competitors to crush a beginner. Soorarai Pottru is watch-worthy for its motivating content.
