Plot

Shaktivel is an undercover cop. He gets a critical case in finding the CM, who has disappeared. AGR, in the sand mining business, is suspected of this issue. As he couldn't be approached directly, Shakti joined his team as a worker. Soon, he gets to know the reality that punches him. What did Shakti find? Who is the AGR, and what is he doing other than Sand mining? The rest of the film deals with it.

Star Performance

Simbu has done a good job. His body language and dialogue delivery are impressive. Gautham Karthik is excellent as an undercover cop. Gautham Menon's performance is notable. Priya Bhavani Shankar has done a decent job.

Analysis

Though the film didn't completely do justice to the original, it has satisfied Simbu fans. Simbu and Gautham Karthik's excellent performances have made the loopholes vanish for some time. The climax stunt sequence is excellently choreographed and captured. AR Rahman's background score is neat. The song in the second half doesn't make a significant impact. Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar could have been given a few more impactful scenes.

Verdict

Pathu Thala is a good entertainer with Simbu, Gautham Karthik, Gautham Menon, and Priya Bhavani Shankar in the never-before roles. The film is worth watching once!
