- A few minor errors
Oh Manapenne is a romantic comedy film scripted by Deepak Sundarrajan and directed by Kaarthikk Sundar. Krishnan Vasant cranked the camera, and editing is by Kripakaran. Vishal Chandrashekhar composed the music. Satyanarayana Koneru and Ramesh Varma Penmesta bankrolled the film. The movie is based on the hit Telugu film Pelli Choopulu. Harish Kalyan and Priya Bhavani Shankar played the lead roles. Abishek Kumar, Anbu Thasan, Siddhanth, Ashwin Kumar Lakshmikanthan, and Venu Arvind played the supporting roles.
Karthik and Shruti’s parents arranged the matchmaking event, and they were permitted to share their views sitting in a room. Karthik is an engineering graduate searching for the right job. However, he is interested in the cooking and food truck business. Shruti is not interested in marriage, and she wants to pursue higher studies abroad. Later they realize that they have landed a wrong house. However, Karthik and Shruti meet again and start a food truck business. What happened next? Do they have any chemistry between them? What happened to Shruti’s higher studies? The rest of the story deals with this.
Harish Kalyan and Priya Bhavani Shankar had performed well. They had polished their skills well and had emoted well. Venu Arvind excels in his role as a father and Anbu Thasan is good with his expressions and body language. The rest of the cast had done justice to the given roles.
Although it is a known story, the director had made it enjoyable. With some minor changes that suit the Tamil sensibilities, the film is made. The dialogues are penned well, and the humor is breezy. The characters are finely created, and the suitable actors landed in the roles. An energetic young team with the support of experienced actors like Venu Arvind impressed the audience. The cinematography is neat, and so do the music department. The film is technically perfect.
What’s Not There?
Oh Manapenne is filmed by a fresh filmmaking team with a good set of actors. The movie is cool with the visuals and performances. Oh Manapenne – A genuine remake with good performances!
