Michael Movie Review
Michael is an action thriller scripted and directed by Ranjit Jeyakodi. Bharath Chowdary and Pushkar Ram Mohan Rao bankrolled the film. Kiran Koushik cranked the camera, and Sathyanarayanan handled the editing. The music is composed by Sam CS. The film features Sundeep Kishan, Vijay Sethupathi, Gautham Menon, Divyansha Kaushik, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Varun Sandesh, Ayyappa P Sharma, Anasuya Bharadwaj, and Ravi Varma.
Guru, a don, saves Michael when he is a kid and makes him one of his trusted gangsters. Though he has a huge trust in Michael, some gang members don’t want Michael to get a place in Guru’s Trust Book. When Guru was attacked, it was Michael’s turn to discover the truth behind the attack. Meanwhile, Michael falls for Theera, Guru’s daughter. Will he be able to win Theera and Guru’s love? The rest of the film deals with this.
Sundeep Kishan has worked very hard for this movie and his role. However, in some scenes, he looks a bit exaggerated. The same goes for Varun Sandesh. Divyansha is decent in the assigned role. Vijay Sethupathi, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Anasuya appear in brief roles. GVM is the real show person with a pleasant performance.
Michael didn’t have a new story or extraordinary performances. But the cast is impressive, and that’s the significant success of the team in pulling the audience to the theaters. Though Vijay Sethupathi and Varalaxmi didn’t have much screen time, their presence created a huge expectation in the second half. Sundeep’s efforts should be appreciated, and his hard work is visible. The cinematography and the BGM are pretty decent. The film is predictable as it has no big twists in the script.
- The performances are pretty decent
- The visuals are good
- The cast is the biggest plus
What’s Not There?
- Predictable scenes are one of the significant drawbacks
- Not all the characters are made well
Though the film has the same old gangster story, the climax is perfect; it is not new, but it fits the script. If you are an action movie lover, you can try this film.
