Plot: You are married, jobless and survive on the money you make from gambling. You stay with your friends and only visit your wife when you need her. You start helping the police to nab the culprits and slowly start taking sides, without knowing the fact that the police change sides often and one day they will be against you to clean up the mess they created. That day, you will start running for your life and everyone seem to be coming for you to take your life. What would you do? How far you can run? You are Kathir and you are the hero of the film, Kirumi.
Script wise, there is some originality in the story. Screenplay was two paced. The 1st half wanders randomly, slowly setting up the story for the 2nd half. 2nd half has some good gripping sequences and ends with an abrupt climax, of course with a subtle message. Music by K was good at some places where it created a tensed environment. Cinematography was brilliant, especially in the night scenes as majority of the film happens in the night. Editing was sharp and kudos for keeping the runtime below 2 hours.
I liked the characters in the movie. The hero, who is an ok looking guy who time passes with his friends and does gambling everyday. His wife is helpless, but never revolts against him and pleases him whenever he wants 'it'. His friends are like typical friends. His brother played by Charlie, who is protective and a caretaker. There is a lot of genuineness in each character and the way they performed. Kathir was good in emotional and serious scenes, but needs practice on the romance side.

looked cute and carried her role with ease. Charlie was brilliant as always.
Verdict: Watch Kirumi to get a slice of the night life in Chennai and how police department works. The events shown in the movie are taken from real life incidents and they looked quite original and real in the movie.
