Chasing is an action crime thriller scripted and directed by Veera Kumar. Pon Parthiban penned the dialogues. The film has Varalaxmi Sarathkumar as the protagonist. Bala Saravanan, Imman Annachi, Mathialagan Muniandy, Super Subbarayan and Jerald are also in the cast. Thashi composed the music and the cinematography is by Krishnasamy. Balasubramaniam and Greyson edited the film. Super Subbarayan and Action Prakash are the action choreographers. Mathialagan Muniandy produced the film under the banner Asia Sin Media.
Athira is a cop who clears the drug peddlers and dadas. She is a straightforward cop and dares for nothing. The film is all about how she finishes off the wrongdoers.
Varu plays an interesting role and even does stunts. She excels in a few stunt sequences and impresses the audience. Bala Saravanan accompanies her and does his part well.
True to its title, Varalaxmi chases the villains throughout the film. Although the film starts well, in a few minutes, the audience guesses the next sequence easily. So, the thrills and suspense become useless. The action sequences are well-choreographed and Varu did it fine. The BGM is loud and disturbs the ears. The narration is not impressive, so does the character design. The dialogues are okayish. Some of the stars didn’t fit well in the roles and hence it doesn’t seem to be a feature film.
What’s Not There?
The film lacks thrills and suspense, as it is easily predictable. As the film is not executed properly, Varalaxmi’s performance goes in vain!
