“Bhoomi” is an action movie scripted and directed by “Lakshman.” Sujatha Vijayakumar produced the film under the Home Movie Makers banner. Jayam Ravi plays the lead role. The film has Nidhi Agarwal, Ronit Roy, “Sathish,” Radha Ravi, Saranya Ponvannan, Thambi Ramaiah, “G Marimuthu” and John Vijay in the supporting roles. “D Imman” composed the music. Dudley cranked the camera and editing is by “Antony L Ruben” and Cinematographer John Abraham. The film released on Disney + Hotstar.
Bhoominathan from India is an astronaut working for NASA on the Mars Mission. Before heading to Mars, he decides to visit his native. After landing his place, he comes to know about the worst situation of the farmers, who find it hard to run their lives amidst a corporate. Bhoomi decides to solve their issues and hence he prefers farmers over his Mars mission. Did Bhoomi solve the issues of his farmers? What was his take against the money-minded corporate? The answers form the rest of the film.
Performance-wise, Jayam Ravi is good. Nidhi Agarwal is a template heroine. Saranya didn’t have much space to perform. Ronit’s performance is not super-duper.
This is another usual story of an educated youth, who jumps into the field and raises his voice for farmers. Nothing special in the story and the only difference is that he is from NASA and the rest of the similar kind of stories had the heroes as Software Engineers, who work in some foreign nations. Though the villain character is strong, the performance is not much impressive. Most of the time, the dialogues didn’t match his lip movements. In some scenes, the logic had gone missing. The same kind of dialogues is getting repeated throughout the film. The songs and BGM are good. The cinematography is okayish.
What’s Not There?
Speaking against a corporate in a film that streams on the corporate platform looks odd. The story is not new and we have seen a lot of movies of this kind in recent years. If you are a Jayam Ravi fan, you can try this film, but don’t expect much!
